Healthy staff and teachers are our most valuable resource for creating safe

and supportive learning environments. This workshop will explore why individual and collective wellbeing are challenging and necessary skills. Participants will be introduced to the components of wellbeing and explore using the SELF-CARE acronym and Thriving Schools Staff Wellbeing Assessment as a way to strengthen the long-term wellbeing of central office staff. 

Attendees will learn to:

  • Describe how stress can be toxic and ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) impact the whole school, including staff well-being. (Central staff)
  • Introduce a framework and tools to strengthen staff wellbeing & resiliency in central office settings (using the Kaiser Permanente Thriving Schools Assessment).
  • Identify at least 3 resources and/or activities to strengthen staff well-being in central office departments.
  • Access resources and funding to support year-long staff wellbeing activities
